The Last Day of 2015

It is the last day of 2015...what a year! God has been faithful. I wish I had some great words that could neatly wrap up the year, but I don't. All I know to do is praise the Lord for His goodness.

I will spend most of this day watching football, spending time with family and friends. But, I will take some time to reflect. There is no way I could recall all of God's blessings this year, but what comes to mind first is the expansion of my family, my time in Kenya, and my church family. God's greatness, power and presence were in all three. I am truly a blessed man.

As I think about 2016, I can't help but get excited. I know God will reveal Himself and we will see Him continue to change us and redeem people at Grace. Grace will continue to be a place where people of all ages can become disciples of Christ. We will love God, each other and the stranger. We will seek God's face. As a result, we will adjust our priorities to represent Him. We will obey Him as He teaches us through the Word and empowers us through His Spirit. We will be generous with our time, our energy, and our money...for His glory and for His kingdom to expand.

We will be couragous with our love, our faith, and our kindness. We will look for ways to be Christlike with each other, our families, our co-workers, our friends, our neighbors, and the person we've never seen before. For the people we can't be with in person, we will pray for them and partner with believers who are called and committed to pointing them to Christ.

We will learn to be relentless in these matters. I look forward to 2016.
